Brief Answer:
Foot pain

Detailed Answer:
Good evening

Thank you for writing on health care magic

Well, I would like to ask you a few questions before exactly localising the site of the pain, as foot pain can be a very troublesome thing with difficult to localize.

1. Where exactly is the location of pain..heel area or the bottom of the foot?

2. Does it hurt when you keep your foot down in the morning?

3. Any swelling near the achilles tendon?? If you could attach a picture of the location of the pain that would be quite helpful

4. Could you attach the MRI report?

5. Do you have any similar complaints in the knee joints or any other joints

Do let me know these query. Would give me an insight on where exactly is the location of the pain and can guide you accordingly

Brief Answer:
Plantar FAscitis

Detailed Answer:
GOod evening

Well the sort of pain you are describing looks more of either plantar fascitis or REtrocalcaneal bursitis. A picture would have been more helpful in localizing the pain.

Never the less , I will guide you to the management of both the conditions

The sort of symptoms you have fit in more with plantar fascitis, that is pain on keeping the heel down in the morning. For it s management:

1. You need to start wearing sports shoes for most of the day and avoid wearing heels or slippers . That would give the fascia time to heel

2/ Do contrast water bath : Dip you feet in hot and cold water alternatively for 10 minutes morning and evening

3. Take a short course of anti inflammatory drug for a week or so to settle any inflammation in the foot

4. LAstly if all these therapy dont work for 3 weeks, get an ultrasound done and if possible a soft tissue injection to relieve the pain

Secondly, if it is Retrocalcaneal bursitis since there is a swelling near the heel area, it would also involve change of foot wear but it wont go off without the injection into the bursa

At this stage if you want a definite diagnosis, Ultrasound would be useful. Till then you can try with these conservative therapy

Do let me know for more queries. Would be happy to help you out

Dr Naval
