Posted on Mon, 17 Aug 2015
Question: My left shoulder popped at work the other day, and has been sore and hurts to lift my arm over my head. I noticed the area where the shoulder and clavicle meet is swollen now. It hurts when i hold anything and try to lift it up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to Health Care Magic, Thanks for writing to us,

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad, I have read your question, I understand your concern and will try to help you in the best possible way.

It seems that you pulled off a ligament or strained a muscle there doesn't seem anything to worry but I would suggest you to visit a doctor to rule our any joint displacement how ever he wants to do it, either by exam of X-rays..

Here are a few suggestions to make it heal quicker.
1) Rest your shoulder.
2) Get a sling from a drug store or make a cloth sling and immobilize it for 2-3 days.
3) Warm compress the area that is swollen.
4) Rub diclofenac or brufen cream at the area,
5) You can take tylenol or burfen tablets for pain.

This is expected to take 5-7 days to heal please be patient and don't panic much.
Stay blessed
