Question : Hi, I have slight swelling in my left armpit area close to my breast. I get a pins and needles feeling that comes and goes in my chest and armpit area, but no severe pain. The swelling appears to have gone down some ( I first noticed it on Friday) but I am still feeling the pins and needles feeling and am concerned because I do have a family history of breast cancer on my mother's side and 1 relative does have the brca gene. I do not currently have a pcp, I do have insureance, wanted to know if it was worth going to urgent care.

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of age and gender, swelling in left armpit area close to the breast, pins and needles feeling in chest and armpit, family history of breast cancer and gene, no PCP but have insurance.
Since you have symptoms suggestive more of inflammation than the cancer, it is still important to have a clinical valuation by a Doctor, actual examination and investigations as per the clinical findings to rule out cancer and to find the cause of the symptoms and treat them accordingly.
Earlier the better.
