Question: I had meniscual surgery in January. I have had a long recovery due to swelling and scartissue I have had 2 previos abdominal previos surgies where scar tissue became very prevalent I can't take inflamotry meds because of side ffects . I break out in huge whelps all over my head and I itch all over my intire body. My dr will not prescribe inflamotry meds for that reason. I am still in pain and I cannot intake any prescribed pain meds either. My question is ..is it possible that there could be foods or liquids causing the swelling.
Brief Answer:
Not related to food or fluids intake.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The swelling at the site of surgery is due to inflammation in the area. Intake of any foods is not related to the swelling that you have.
Since you cannot take any pain killers or anti inflammatory medicines it is best to do a hot fomentation in the affected area and use a knee brace during daytime. Avoid weight bearing on the affected knee.
I hope this answers your query.
