What Causes Swelling In Abdomen And Legs Along With Reduced Urine Output?

Question: I have liver and kidney disease but under control at the present. I am taking 40 mg of Lasix 3 times a day. However, my urination has decreased to a minimal amount and I have gained 11 pounds in a week. I am swollen in the stomach and legs. What could be the cause? My diet has not changed and I am on a low sodium diet. Thanks, XXXXXXX

People with liver and kidney disease are prone for water retention. Reduced albumin level in the body is one reason and other reason is reduced urine output. Here is what you should do

1. Please approach your hospital immediately.
2. You will need to get your liver function test and renal function test done
3. Consume less than 1 litre of fluids per day, more you drink more swelling you will have
4. Lasix might not be a strong enough drug at this point, I recommend you to take a combination of torasamide with metalozone for removal of the swelling

Please do not ignore this matter, approach your hospital as soon as possible
