Question : my husband has these incredible episodes where his forehead and eyelids swell. he is nauseated and has to go to sleep for 12 hours no matter what else is happening, he seems almost drunk, this happens about 4 times a year , and is scary. seems like a seizure to me, and he has suffered a brain injury as a child
Brief Answer:
Following diagnostic tests advised
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through the medical history of your husband and understood your concerns.
Having episodesof swelling in forehead and eyes is a sign of internal problem :
- kidney disease to rule out through abdominal ultrasound, urine analysis & kidney function tests.
- any side effects of medications or anything he might have consumed (food, alcohol, etc)
- heart problems to rule out through ECG and echocardiogram
- local (head and brain) issues to exclude through EEG and a thorough neurological examination
If I was his caring doctor would advise to check his internal organs ( kidney, liver, heart) first.
