Question : I am a 36 year old female who weighs 112 lbs. I have pereoneus brevis pain from running. Tomorrow is my long run for my half marathon training and I was wondering how much of the voltaren 25 mg I should be taking. I got the pills while in Germany at a pharmacy, as you do not need a prescription there and since the directions are in German I am not sure the dosage requirements. Also when I took these pills in Germany, I blew up like a balloon. Is there something to prevent this from happening and how much water a day should I be drinking while taking these pills?

Brief Answer:
Unfortunately that is a side effect of voltren, so not too much to do

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM. As stated, the swelling and edema is a side effect of this drug and that is common. The pills should not exceed 100mg a day to be safe and should be drunk with water, which also contributes to the swelling. I would just stretch very well before the run and use Ibuprofen which is over the counter with less side effects than this medication. I hope this helps, good luck and thanks.
