Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Get a neck ultrasound (USG) done. Further imaging (X-rays or Scans) may be advised after this.

2. The most probable cause for a recurrent swelling in that area is a partially blocked salivary gland duct.

3. Follow up with the reports here for further treatment options.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Yes, it is safe to continue the antibiotics is the swelling is decreasing.

2. Clindamycin is the best antibiotic as it achieves the best concentration in saliva.

3. It is safer to take IV antibiotics in a daycare facility or after indoor admission.

4. Examination and investigations should be done.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
