Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

I completely understand why you are concerned at this point. I do not necessarily think this is a case of cancer but I do think you should see a specialist for a good physical examination and for a determination of whether you might need some type of biopsy to confirm that this is benign.

tissue in the tonsils swells from time to time based on exposure to viruses and allergens in the environment. Rarely we see some cancers developing this area.

I would recommend that you do not touch or press or push on this area with any object or would your finger. This can sometimes cause the area to swell even more.

Thank you again for sending your question. I would recommend that you request a referral to a specialist in the area of the throat who can do a good examination with a special instrument to visualize all of the tissue in the back of your throat. This will help provide you with some additional reassurance.

Thanks again for sending your question. Let us know if we can provide you with any additional assistance in the future.

Thank you, so what are the symptoms of tonsil cancer, and what does a lump associated with tonsil cancer feel like??

good question.

Sometimes patients might not have any symptoms at all. More classically patients will develop a persistent sore throat and sense of fullness in the throat which progresses overtime.

The most proper evaluation of such considerations would be a direct examination of this part of the throat. This is usually done by a specialist who has a special camera which can access that part of the body to view any abnormalities.
