Question: I'm taking 100mg of losartan potassium once/day. It replaced lisinipril. My face while not visibly swelling is feeling flush. Could this change have initiated this reaction?

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be an allergic reaction related to losartan adverse effects.

Lisinopril and losartan belong to the same pharmacological class (ACEI), but an allergic reaction can not be excluded.

If the problem persists, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician and discussing about this issue.

Meanwhile, I recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can cause face flushing too.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
