Question : I am making a query for my wife XXXX, aged 77 years. She had a fracture on 22.12.2013
on her left foot near the last two fingers. This has happened in Geneva-Switzerland. Now the fracture is completely healed up and she can walk. But the problem is, she is always having the SWELLING on the the left toe.. It reduces at night and some times
she has very little pain. Is there any way to get relief from the swelling. She has no big medical history behind.
Brief Answer:
Elevate the limb after walking.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
It is normal to having some swelling and pain even after 3 month of fracture. The way to get relief from swelling is to elevate the limb after walking. She have to do active toe movement to increase the muscle strength and decrease the swelling. Doing hot fomentation will be helpful.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
