Brief Answer:
It is too early to comment on this..Monitor!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

The swelling you have reported shortly after this surgery is not uncommon. For now, this swelling is most likely related to the surgery than is a complication resulting from this surgery. It would normally need some more time for all to fall into place and for us to be able to tell whether there is more to this or not. Should this swelling get worse over time or fails to resolve several weeks after this procedure, we would want to look at the fluid returning system to the heart for possible answers. For now we are well within expectations and should monitor only.

In all, there is no reason to get worried as this is not unexpected shortly after this surgery. If this fails to resolve with time, we would probe further. Also, mention this to your doctor tomorrow for a comprehensive examination and recommendations. Avoid sitting for to long, always raise legs while sitting and do not consume excess salt to lessen this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Should I be drinking lots of water? Would this help?

Brief Answer:
Lots of water would not help with this!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up question.

Drinking much water would not help with this. It may rather make it worse. I will suggest that you drink just as much water as the body demands(using thirst) and not any increased volumes thinking it would be of any additional help towards this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
