What Causes Swollen Hands And Eyes Inspite Of Being On Levaquin And Medtronic?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Feb 2015
Question: I am on levaquin, Medtronic and biaxin. My hands, feet, ankles and eyes are swollen. I can't even get my shoes on. I've had bronchitis for about 5 weeks now and nothing seems to be helping. I'm not sure what to do. I am also having confusion, sleeplessness and dizziness. Am I having a reaction to these medications?

Brief Answer:
Exacerbated form of Chronic bronchitis vs Pneumonia?Needs Pulmonologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam.

I understand your query and concen.

As per your symptoms described, you probably seem to have exacerbated stage of Chronic bronchitis progressing to diffuse infection in the form of pneumonia bronchitis, particularly in view of confusion, sleeplessness and dizziness.

This systemic upset warrants further investigation in the form of:
1.Sputum examination.
2.Chest X ray.
3.Complete blood counts
4.2 dimensional echo.

Reaction to the above mentioned medications is quite unlikely as they are the standard first line drugs used to treat Bronchitis/pneumonia.

Consult your pulmonologist at the earliest.

Thank you.
