Question : Seven year old has strep throat, on anti biotic for 48 hours. Gums and lips are very swollen and child is lethargic and pale and feels clammy to touch. Gave her Ibuprofen 2 teaspoons children's strength.

                                    Brief Answer:
Ensure liquid intake and urine output
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Strep throat responds well to amoxicillin.
You need to complete the antibiotic course as advised.
Ibuprofen is a good analgesic and antipyretic, will bring down temperature quickly. The clamminess of skin might be due to it.
Ensure you give her plenty of liquids to drink and keep her hydrated.
Ensure she passes urine atleast six times a day.
If she becomes very dull with poor intake and poor urine output, you need to take her to your doctor to rule out blood stream infection.
Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
