What Causes Swollen Lower Lip With Painful Pus?

Question: My lower lip is suffering from a swollen and painful pus. Recently I had been infected with mumps that causes my body temperature to rise and fall. It also cause some sort of itchiness the whole of my body.I ununderstand it may due to that that the pus started to appear on my lower lip. Usually with pus on my lip, I will apply home remedy of spreading butter on the affected area and it will quickly recover almost to next day but as I monitor the pus, there is no progress and I even felt painful when I tried to apply lip medicated ointment. Any solution?

I will try to help you with it.

First, we need to evaluate why you keep developing this pus. The development of pus repeatedly may be either due to repeated infection, or possibly incomplete infection control. The latter option is probably more probable because you have been taking this butter application.

Ideally I would have suggested that you get a pus culture report.
This will tell us the type of infection, and also the antibiotic cover needed.
A course of antibiotics may help thereafter.

And of course we need to know why you are having the infections repeatedly. We need to find out if you have conditions like diabetes etc
