What Causes Swollen Lymph Node On My Neck After Taking Amoxicillin?

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Mar 2015
Question: I saw my doctor two days ago. He diagnosed me with sinusitis and an upper respiratory infection. I am taking amoxicillin. Last night I felt a swollen lymph node on the back of my neck right below my skull. It hurts. I am scared because I am a 17 year breast cancer survivor, and two summers ago I had 3 lymph nodes light up on a pet scan because my 27.29 tumor markers were up. I had the one in m groin biopsied and it came back non-cancerous. The other two were two deep in my chest to biopsy. Anyway I am on aromason and my counts have been normal. So now I think this node is either lymphoma or breast cancer. I have no fever.

Brief Answer:
Biopsy

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Since you are having swollen lymph node in back of your neck and you are having history of breast cancer i would advise you to complete the course of antibiotic.

If the swelling is due to infection it will resolve automatically. But if the swelling stilll perisist i will advise you to do a biopsy test to rule out malignancy.
