Sub-mandibular salivary gland, to be confirmed
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood your history of swelling on the left which increases on eating fruits and then subsides. Feels slight pain on blowing nose and have hay fever...
The history is classical for either of the reasons as follows:
- This may be a swelling related to the submandibular salivary gland with a stone in the duct. This is the reason that it increases on eating fruits.
This is so because fruits instigate more salivary production causing swelling in the gland the duct of which is most probable obstructed by the stone or so.
I would advise the following in such a situation.
- Bi-manual palpation preferably by an ENT surgeon can feel the stone in the floor of the mouth and the diagnosis is then confirmed by CT scan.
Further management will depend upon the actual findings.
I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis, and get a proper further treatment. Please feel free to ask for more or if you need further clarifications or if you feel there is a gap of communication.
