Question : I have a bulging belly button and it is tender.
Never had this before. Should I be concerned?

It could be Umbilical hernia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
If the belly button is enlarged without discharging pus , it could be Umbilical hernia.
There will be defect (hole) beneath the Umbilicus and the contents of the abdomen like intestine or fat (omentum) will enter through the defect causing bulge.There is no medical treatment for this.Surgery is the only option. Ultrasound abdomen will confirm the diagnosis.
Please consult your doctor, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
