What Causes Tenderness In Groin Area After A Non Penetrative Sexual Activity?

default
Posted on Wed, 13 Jan 2016
Question: Yes about 4 weeks ago I received a hand job were they used their saliva to lubricate. I have been urinating a lot and need to wait for it to start and it stops and starts and been running a fever. I have had tenderness around the groin and discomfort in my back and side. I have no pain when urinating, no discharge, sores , bumps , and no burning or itching. Could this be an std or a coincidental uti and nerves.

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

Your symptoms sound suspicious for a possible urinary tract infection. I do not think your symptoms represent a sexually-transmitted disease. Also mild to moderate underlying anxiety can heighten or exacerbate your symptoms.

I would recommend that you touch base with your primary care physician to obtain a urinalysis which can definitively diagnosed with urinary tract infection. You might need a short course of antibiotics to help clear up your symptoms.

Again I do not think you're dealing with a sexually-transmitted disease from the symptoms you have described.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga

So these symptoms I am experiencing are not that of a std. If any of these symptoms are an idication of a std which one would it be when I can get to the doc and if the urinalysis shows nothing. This is embarrassing for me to talk with my doc about. And if I do not need to talk about my lack of proper judgement I wish not to. So you think this is some sort of uti only

hello again.

Yes your symptoms do seem consistent with a possible urinary tract infection.
again this may also be partially related to anxiety and nervousness. In that case the symptoms would probably resolve within a day or two.

As far as sexually transmitted disease is there would be a remote possibility that this could be something like chlamydia or gonorrhea but it is impossible to tell without performing formal testing.

I would continue to observe the symptoms for now. If you have worsening of your symptoms or if they are persistent you should see your doctorto have a urinalysis and possibly antibiotics if indicated.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
