What Causes Tenderness In Scalp?

Question: I have had scalp tenderness for a little over a year. It hurts to have my head on a pillow, on the back of a chair and I also have pain when the wind blows my hair. I also have a lot of itching of the scalp.

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Scalp tenderness may be due to local cause like scalp infection, abscess or trauma.
Other causes may be migraine, tension type headache or temporal arteritis or herpes zoster.
Are you having headache, vomiting, nausea, photophobia, phonophobia, sleep disturbances,.
Any stress?
Any migraine?
You should provide more details.
Use of local anesthesia is a short lasting procedure.
If required in cases of tension type headache botox injection can be given.
