What Causes Tenderness In The Lower Right Abdomen?

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Feb 2017
Question: Hi.
I'm having some tenderness in my lower right abdomen. It is below my belly button and near my pelvic bone. I don't have constant pain. It is painful to the touch. Also when I touch it I get pain in my back. The pain is a 3 when I touch it and goes higher if I apply pressure. This has been going on for 2 days.

I also have a swollen lymph node in my right groin area for 2 1/2 days. It is about 1" long, hard, painful when pressed on and moveable. I did see a doctor about it and he diagnosed it. I thought this might be important information to share.

Brief Answer:
Kidney stone is possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Your symptoms are very characteristic for a kidney stone which has stuck in a lower part of the right ureter. Usually it gives lower pain which radiates to the groin and leg. Back pain is because the urine flow is impeded from the kidney.
You may also have frequent urinating. Hot bath should temporally ease the pain.

I suggest you to consult your doctor and have abdominal ultrasound done as well as urine analysis and blood work. Please do not wait with it.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
