What Causes Tenderness On Left Side Of Lower Stomach?

Sprained muscles- to rule out hernia
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Yes these could be weak stomach muscles.
To recapitulate: 60 years male - cold or flu virus - coughing a lot and hard - tenderness on left lower stomach and cannot push in that area -do not like taking Advil or medications...
I would like to know few more details for me to get a better idea and to guide you better:
-Since how many days you have got the flu and coughing?
-Are there any associated symptoms like fever, expectoration, and the color of expectoration (phlegm) if you have?
-Do you have any intestine related symptoms like nausea, loose motions or pain in the abdomen?
-Any bulge like a hernia in the left lower abdomen?
As per the history you have provided, there is a possibility of sprain in the lower abdominal muscles, which is common with the coughing.
I would advise you to consult a Doctor to have a clinical / physical examination of the area to rule out development of a hernia.
He would also examine you for the flu and signs related to it.
I do understand your unwillingness to take medicines, but control of coughing is very important for avoiding its secondary complications one already you have of pain in lower abdomen- the sprained weak muscles or a potential hernia. (In the absence of the any intestinal symptoms)
I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis, and get a proper further treatment. Anyways kindly get back to me with answers for my queries.
Please feel free to ask for more or if you need further clarifications if you feel there is a gap of communication
