Question: i work on my feet but have had the flu and have been off them for several days. i wake up yesterday and put on my boots and almost immediately it feels as if there was small pebble in my boot just forward of center my right heal. as i walk all day it gets worse. Today same thing. 36 male 5' 7" 200#

I understand your query and concern.

The symptoms in your case could be due to plantar fascitis/localized tendinitis of the foot muscles.

Flu has nothing to do to this kind of pain.

This can be controlled by analgesics like Ibuprofen 600 mg twice a day under medical prescription.

Additionally an xray of the right foot AP and lateral view will help to rule out any bony abnormality.
