I appreciate your concern for the honey coomb appearance of the left lung.
It is a non-neoplastic, inflammatory lung diseases also called diffuse parenchymal lung disease with fibrotic cystic (honeycomb changes) seen in the lungs of those with certain end-stage interstitial lung diseases. It is a pathologic finding and not a specific disease entity.
It is associated with Collagen vascular diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, Sjögren syndrome, and dermatomyositis/polymyositis.
However, sometimes it can occur without the above mentioned diseases.
