Brief Answer:
Photo bleaching effect

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

It is due to overstimulation of the photoreceptor cells in the retina of your eyes. They are rods and cones which have light sensitive pigments. This effect is similar to when a photograph is taken. This phenomenon is called photo-bleaching. It will take a little while before subsiding. If it persists beyond an 2 hours then you should have your eyes checked. If the spots are associated with light flashes and/ or painful red eye then you should go to an ophthalmologist as soon as possible. If you have a history of glaucoma or previous eye surgeries then you should get an ophthalmologist appointment to have your eyes checked, just to be on the safe side.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
