Question : Hi I'm 47 and have an umbilical hernia have had it quite a while I have been wearing quite tight pants to work with a belt which has left my belly button quite red and sore just last night I was pushing on my belly button to push my hernia back in which is quite common and a fair bit of thick white discharge came out over my hands with each push it finally stopped and I'm feeling well now would appreciate your advice.
Brief Answer:
looks like abscess
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
You seem to have developed an abscess at the site which has now already brusted and evacuated by you.
But still i would suggest that you show it to a surgeon to check if it has been fully evacuated or not and it might need a course of antibiotics and after full infection control, get it repaired.
As continuous pressure and irritation by the belt is causing infection, and can reoccur.
Hope i have been helpful.
