Question: Yes a fuw months ago I had my gallbladder removed. Before that 5 years before I had a gastric sleeve done. I have noticed that my stools have changed colors. The stool has been have dark and have brown. And thinner. What are the causes and what should I do. I am 59 years old.

Thin and dark stools are not from the gallstones or gastric sleeve for sure.
After gallbladder removal due to stones, there is a risk of bile ducts obstruction. If it happens, the stool becomes pale or white, not brown.
Bleeding from the stomach gives black like a tar stool, not brown.

Thin stools can indicate some tumor in the large intestine. The color is a kind of norm. Can be caused by constipation.

In you case, colonoscopy is strongly advisable.
