Brief Answer:
This seems to be an ear infection. Get the ear examined.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. With the pain, throbbing and drainage, this seems to be an ear infection.

2. The throbbing will usually be due to fluid build-up in the middle ear following sinus problems. An ear examination and hearing tests can detect any hearing loss, eardrum perforation, infection or fluid build-up.

3. Antibiotic ear drops may not work due to fungal infection, wax or an ear drum perforation. Your ear examination results will decide the further course of treatment.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
