                                            Question : Dear Dr,
I am experiencing tightness and a feeling of inflammation in the base of my neck towards the front. I do not have a sore throat, and I do not have any pain. My glands feel slightly swollen. I am not having trouble swallowing, but my throat feels irritated. When I swallow it feels sort of "thick." I had a bad upper respiratory infection about 8 weeks ago. What does this sound like to you?

                                    Brief Answer:
You are most probably having persistence post nasal drip (PND)
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
After reading your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having
persistence post nasal drip (PND) common after upper respiratory infection.
If I were your treating doctor , I would advice
Drink plenty of fluids ,
Use antiseptic chlorhexidine Mouth Wash twice daily ,
Saline nasal rinse or spray thrice daily &
Antihistaminic Tab Claritin (Loratadine 10mg) at night .
You will get relief .
Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
