Brief Answer:
See a doctor within 24 hours, heart failure is a concern

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

Chest pain with lower extremity edema is associated with heart disease. There are many causes such as coronary artery disease, hypertension, valvular disease, arrhythmia, cardiomyopathy (damage to the heart muscle), pulmonary disease, and medication non-compliance. Kidney disease can also cause these symptoms. A lot of people will also have shortness of breath with and without exertion, cough, weight gain, fatigue, and night sweats. Sweating without exertion is a bad sign.

If it was me, I would probably go to the emergency room if you are having any of the above symptoms. If not, You should see a doctor very soon to get an EKG, as well as routine screening blood work for kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, and lung disease. You also need a chest X-ray. In the meantime, you should continue to take aspirin. Also restrict your fluids to about a liter a day. Avoid salt, coffee, tobacco, and alcohol. Sleep with your legs elevated.
