Question: Hi
I have a tightness between my shoulder blades. This just came - ie not as a result of lifting or overwork. It has been there for about 10 days now and is showing no signs of abating. If I sneeze or cough it becomes a very sharp pain ( unbearable ) which subsides after about 5 minutes

Brief Answer:
It is likely to be muscular pain.

Detailed Answer:

Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. It is likely to be muscular pain. Rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen is its treatment. Vitamin B and C is helpful in recovery. You can get your x ray chest to exclude lung related causes. MRI of thoracic spine excludes spinal causes.

You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
