What Causes Tightness In Chest With Extreme Difficult Breathing?

Question : Hello im 24 years old male. for past 4-5 months I have been having tightness in the middle of my chest with extreme breathing in difficulties. sometimes I have to yawn to get a full breath and I feel good instantly, but then i start breathing in again and feels like air is not getting past my throat to lungs. have had chest x ray done and everything was normal. I have got blood work done everything was normal. Also I have been to lung doctor and they did some test of me breathing into a pipe which was also normal. I really want my normal life back. please help me doctor. A month ago I had also went into hospital and they said it could be gerd and i am taking some gerd medicaiton but it doesnt seem to help. I seem to have a tightness on top of my chest when I breathe in. Please let me know doctor.

Brief Answer: All the reports are normal Detailed Answer: Hello, Welcome to Healthcare Magic, As all the routine investigation reports and chest X-ray report are seems to be normal. Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) is also normal which indicates that air is flowing into and out of the lung normally. It seems to be no abnormalities with your respiratory system. There is no need to worry about the things that are happening and you can carry on with your normal daily activities. I would suggest you to practice deep breathing exercises on a daily basis for improving the lung capacity. It might be helpful to take consultation from a Psychiatrist of your unrelated symptoms. Hope you will consult your psychiatrist and found out the exact causes for the vague and unrelated symptoms. Thank you.

one thing that I do notice is that I have been everyday feeling fatigued, sometimes have sore throat and sometimes I also spit phelgm but its not everyday, sometimes im also a bit lightheaded but that could be cause of sinus. Do you think I need to get an endoscopy from an ENT doctor or you suggest seeing a gastroenterologist? Thanks

For these symptoms you may require physical examination of the oral cavity and all the air sinuses of the face by the ENT surgeon. He will decide on further mode of management for your symptoms.
