default
Posted on Tue, 27 Dec 2016
Question: I was diagnosed today with pancreatic parenchymal abnormalities consisting of diffuse echocgenicity of the entire pancreas.I had an attack of acute pancreatitis last December and have lost 30 lbs and have tightness in my chest, some nausea, and a feeling of fullness in my upper abdomen. It sort of feels like I'm full of rocks after even a small meal.

Brief Answer:
MRCP required

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
In your case, it would be good to do MRCP diagnostic test to evaluate pancreas more accurately. This may be sign of chronic pancreatitis but considering your symptoms even some more serious diagnoses may be present such as tumors. So more accurate tests are necessary to rule this out and these are ct,mrcp and gastroscooy. Chronic pancreatitis may be treated with medications and dietary changes but pseudocyst or tumors require surgical treatment. Wish you good health. Regards
