What Causes Tingling Above Eye Brow After Taking Prednisolone?

Question: Hi, is 25mg twice a day of prednisolone for 4 days a correct dose. I have been told by my doctor to take this starting today and take the early dose on Fri and see him as well. I have been on 2 doses of amoxicillin 1G for the last month but keep getting chest infections. I haven't had a chest x-ray, my
Dr denies that I have asthma but wants me to take prednisolone 25mg twice a day together with erythromycin 400mg three times a day. I'm worried about the side effects of these 2 medications... what is it that I'm suffering from to be put on these 2 medications? I have been having mild tingling sensation above my eyebrows and right side of the face that comes and goes when I woke up this evening after taking the medications at 12 midday today.

Brief Answer:
Every practitioner has his own scheduele.
Detailed Answer:
Prednisolone is a steroid and the dosage may vary from 20 mgm to 60 to 80 mgm or even more daily depending on the severity of illness. Every practitioner has his own scheduele which he finds effective.
In a case like your`s, it is probably being given for hypereactive airways normally seen after a bout of infection. It is generally given as 30 to 40 mgm once a day preferably in the morning for 5 to 7 days.
The symptoms of tingling and numbness are unlikely to be due to your medication however, discuss it with your doctor.

Sorry I don't have numbness on my face- just tingling. Another thing I asked was taking Erythromycin together with Prednisolone. Why am I taking them together? Can you explain more about Erythromycin and it's side effects please. Should my Dr have ordered a chest x-ray after the Amoxycillin didn't work before putting me straight onto prednisolone and erythromycin?
Brief Answer:
It is better to get chest x ray done.
Detailed Answer:
Erythromycin is an antibiotic used for infections.
No there is no harm in taking it along with prednisolone. Erythromycin may cause gastritis and at times may affect liver function.
If patient does not respond to a course of antibiotics, it`s better to get an x ray chest done.
