Please follow up with details.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

If you would have presented to me as an outpatient with this complaint,I would have made the following clinical impression-

Poking on the back of knee causing pain, may refer to tinel sign positivity for common peroneal nerve, but it is just a probability(but it may be wrong as tinel sign for common peroneal nerve is elicited from the side of knee or fibular head).
It may occur in some infections but no evidence here for shingles. So,it is vague to say that it is shingles.

Please tell a few details so that I may answer your query better-
1)Is this burning sensation bilateral or in one leg(though you mentioned 'feet',still to be doubly sure)
2)Are you a Diabetic or any other medical history?
3)Do you have loss of sensations or weakness in legs?Difficulty in wearing footwear?

Some of the common causes that can lead to burning sensations in bilateral feet are-
1)Diabetes
2)Peripheral neuropathy
3)Vitamins deficiencies
4)Chronic alcohol intake
5)Kidney disease
6)Some medicines-tell your drugs/medicines history in follow up question.
7)Thyroid disorder
Please tell in follow up whether you have any history related to above mentioned causes. If you don't know about it,we can really plan investigations to rule them out.

Please follow up with details.

Hi i have not got diabetes, the pain burning sensation is worse in my left leg but both feet have the problems, i understand you can present symptoms of shingles with no rash? is this correct?.
when i have walked in footwear my feet do hurt? Thought maybe its the shoes i have been wearing but dont think so now.
No weakness in legs generally just the burning sensation to soles of feet.
Also, my hands have begun to tingle as well tho not all the time?
Pretty weird but am beginning to be slightly worried?

Brief Answer:
Shingles can affect nerves without rash, but not in feet like this.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing details.

Do you have any past history of varicella zoster?skin lesions in the past?I am asking so as you appear to be preoccupied with thought of Shingles as the cause of your symptoms.

Yes,Shingles can affect with nerves without rash but 'burning sensation in both feet' which is likely manifestation of peripheral neuropathy,is not a feature of shingles.

I suggest you to get the following investigations done:
1)Thyroid function tests
2)Fasting and post prandial blood sugar
3)kidney function tests
4)Nerve conduction studies of all 4 limbs.

Please follow up after getting these investigations done.Meanwhile, please start the following treatment-
1)Tab.Pregabalin 75 mg once a day
2)Tab.Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg once a day
3)Antioxidants.

PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE ONLY.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have some follow-up queries,I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.
