Question : My left arm has been tingling and having numbness for about 8 hours today. This is not the first time I have experienced this and have been seen by doctors to rule out serious problems. However in the last few months i find if I use meth for more than a 1 day period this happens. Just wondering what caused this and if it can be avoided.

Hi,
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic for posting your query

I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar.

I have gone through your question in detail and understand your concern. It may be due to neuropraxia which is temporary blockage of signals through nerve due to continuous pressure on nerves. It can be due to whenever you take meth and party it may be possible that during sleep some continuous pressures is there on one of nerves.Mostly radial nerve is effected. It gradually resolve itself. Methylcobalamine help in resolving it. It can be avoided by careful that it does not hang on side of bed or remains under pressure for long at one place. However numbness is also direct side effects of meth so it may be related to overdose. It can be prevented by not using meth and its not overdose it. You can discuss with your treating doctor about it.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
