Brief Answer:
Cause of symptom

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. What you felt might be positive type of sensory symptom of greater occipital nerve (C2 nerve).

You should not worry about it. It can occur due to

: continuous compression over nerve
: Vigorous neck movement
: Sometimes it can get trapped in between neck muscle tendon and may give rise to
"Occipital neuralgia". It is not in your case. So no need to worry.

You should consider it significant if you develop it repeatedly. In such case, show it to nearby neurologist to confirm diagnosis. Till then, nothing is needed for it.

Hope it will help you. Thanks. take care.
If still in doubt, do let me know.
