Question : Hi,
I have been getting a tingling feeling in my right eye over the past few days. This makes me touch my eye very offen and has now lead to a bit of a redness.
Just wanted to know what could be the reason for the same. Thanks!

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history.
The symptoms you have mentioned in the form of tingling sensation and redness of the eyes most probably indicate allergic conjunctivitis.
I would prefer to treat conditions like this by use of anti allergic eye drops like olopatadine and artificial tears eye drops.
Along with medical treatment you need to avoid exposure to any of the known allergens like smoke, dust....
The condition usually resolves by 2-3 weeks.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for confirmation of diagnosis and prescription of drugs.

Hi Doc,

Thanks for your quick response.

I presume the anti allergic eye drops like olopatadine and artificial tears eye drops does not have any side effects.
Also, if you could advice on the frequency with which i should use these eye drops (per day?)

I intend to buy the olopatadine eye drops today itself and start using soon.

Thank you for the follow up.

These eye drops does not have any side effect.
Olopatadine eye drops has to be used one drop two times a day.
Artificial tears like Refresh tears can be used one drop 4 times a day.
The eye drops need to be used for 2 weeks to have complete resolution of symptoms.
