What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Toes?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Oct 2017
Question: In the last month I have felt tingling in my toes when it is cold at night. does not really bother me during the day. I broke a small toe a few years ago and thought perhaps that had aggrivated the toes, but in the last week my other foot is beginning to experience the same. Not painful, just tingling.

Brief Answer:
Details

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Do you have numbness of toes?
Do you have tingling of fingers as well?
Do you have dizziness, swelling of feet, tiredness?
Are you diabetic or hypertensive?
Did you try to cover the toes with socks / made them warm by putting in warm water? Check if this helps to relieve the tingling. If it helps that means the cold feet is causing vasoconstriction (the blood is not supplied to ends) leading to tingling.

Thank you.

No numbness, I can feel everything.
No tingling in hands
No dizziness, swelling or tiredness. actually I am a terrible sleeper. 4-6 hours a night.
Some depression. Not any meds but likely use alcohol too much to manage that.
Not diabetic or hypertensive that I know.
Yes socks and water help relieve.

Vasoconstriction. Mmm... any solution? more exercise to help manage?

Brief Answer:
Actionable.

Detailed Answer:
Partly a symptom of depression and partly alcohol induced nutritional deficiency like Thiamine and other Vit B..

If socks and water help relieve when you have symptoms put it in warm water.

I suggest to take Vitamin B supplements especially Vit B1 and B2.
Evaluate the depression symptoms with your psychiatrist / PCP.
