What Causes Tingling Sensation In Urethra After Urination?

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Jul 2014
Question: After I urinate I get a brief tingling sensation throughout my urethra. The sensation may last for 10/15 sec after I urinate. If I press the shaft of the penis until I feel the urethra on both side, it provides a burning sensation. This happens either at the base or the tip of the penis. All this started happening about a month ago after my girlfriend told me she had a UTI.

Suggestions??

Brief Answer:
you also have it now

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

You are also having UTI now.

You both need to get a routine urine test and urine culture and start on antibiotics like doxicycline or nitrofurantoin. After the culture you can change to specific antibiotic as per the sensitivity report. But you need to see a local doctor for the prescription.

Drink more of water and avoid contact till both of you get cured.

Dr. Deepika Patil
