Question : Hello. I have been stressed for over a month now about this ongoing situation vaginally. I have had a tingling sensation now for a month if not longer. It comes and goes and it has also been causing me to feel a frequent need to pee a lot. When i pee, it doesn't burn it just feels like it's not the normal stream I am used to. I have gone to my Obgyn twice who says I look fine but she did not test my urine or do a swab of any kind. Before this, my right vulva was swelling intermittently but there wasn't much pain. Just an annoying feel in all areas surrounding my vagina. I have gotten blood work and tested positive for hsv1 at a level of 2.88 with no symptoms of cold sores of genital lesions( unless they went unnoticed). I did an at home uti test which came back negative but am not sure how accurate these are? I have been taking muscle relaxers and Tylenol to try to ease the pain which is hardly working. What could this possibly be?!

Brief Answer:
Urethritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

It could be possible that you are suffering from inflammation of the urethra. It is common to see tingling of the sensation with no visible symptoms in such patients. Here the patients often have frequent micturition. However it does not explain why there should be swelling of the right vulva.
Here is what you should do, approach a urologist for the same and get the following tests done

1. Get a urine routine test done to look for any active infection
2. Get an ultrasound of the pelvis to see for any structural abnormalities
3. I would put you on Tab Flavoxate twice daily and see for improvement

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Brief Answer:
Depends on the area you are in

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back, I am sorry for the short delay in my reply. I was on call at my hospital. The tablet is over the counter in my region however I think you will require a prescription in your state.

Urethritis does go away on its own if it is non infective in about 2-4 weeks. I am not sure why there is swelling of the vulva, that will require examination.

Yes, you questions are private. It is not herpes.

Hello

Thanks for getting back

Ear drum that is sore is unrelated to this. Sore to touch ear could be a separate entity altogether

Urethirits is common and can be caused by fungi, bacteria or virusis. The most common organism being E Coli. Several sexually transmitted organisms can also cause urethirits for example gonorrhea and chlamydia can cause this.
