What Causes Tiny Raised Spots That Go From Sides Of Nose Towards Upper Lip?

default
Posted on Tue, 30 Dec 2014
Question: I am told often that it sounds like I have a cold. I have to blow my nose often and have recently noticed tiny raised spots along the lines that go from either side of my nose towards the outer edge of my smile. That area is slightly pink (a bit like psoriasis but not flaky) and tickles though not all the time. Is there something going on here apart from work related stress?

Brief Answer:
Excoriation of the upper lip due to the cold.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. It seems to be the description of excoriation on the upper lip due to the cold.

2. A close-up image will help differentiate from excoriation, herpes simplex, bacterial, fungal or viral infection, drug-induced lesions or other rare causes.

3. An opinion of a skin specialist is recommended.

4. Apply an ointment with an anti-bacterial, an anti-fungal and a steroid combination.

If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
