What Causes Tiny Red Spots On Penis Post Protected Oral And Vaginal Sex?

default
Posted on Wed, 24 Jun 2015
Question: Hi, I had an encounter with a stripper 2 weeks ago, I had PROTECTED oral and vaginal sex but before wearing the condom the stripper used her saliva to lubricate my penis. so the next day evening I saw 2 to 3 tiny red spots on my penis head seeing that I used disinfectant(dettol) to clean my penis head. after 2 days I saw 8 to 10 red spots but the old ones are gone. I am really scared if this is Herpes or its just a condom rash or rash because of disinfectant. I do not have watery blisters or penis pain or pain during urination. but I get pain now for sometime after cleaning my penis head with warm salt water. the pictures in internet scares me alot and what ever STD symptom I read I feel like I got it. if this is herpes does the red spot remain for 14 days with out blistering or puss and does herpes symptom starts the next day after my encounter? I have scheduled an appointment with doctor this Saturday. I am really ashamed of what I did and I am getting married in six month i am really worried. all your answers would really help me in some way.
I would like to ask another question! The tiny red spots is like 10 to 12 now where like 2 to 3 spots are gone and new 1 to 2 spots have come in other side of the penis head. Still no itch or puss or ulcer or yellow colored pimples. I have no idea if this red spots is herpes or just normal allergy! Does herpes red spots come and go ? Like 3 spots today and next day new 2 spot the old one not visible ? I'm sorry with these questions! Please help

Brief Answer:
might be condom rash; STDs to be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

I understand your concern.
Herpes genitalis generally presents 5-6days following exposure. Typically the lesions are vesicles leading to crust formation and healing so sudden disappearance of lesion is uncommon. So the red spots may come and go but not in such a short time. Some itching, burning and pus formation is common in herpes.
From the history and the pictures, it looks more like a condom rash. Reaction from disinfectant is also possible but such prolonged history is bit unlikely. However, as sometimes STDs can be asymptomatic, I would suggest a swab culture to rule out any STDs. Viral culture or PCR can be done for herpes too.
The area should be kept clean. Antibiotic creams can be applied to prevent superadded infections. Further management might be decided as per culture reports.
You can talk to your consulting doctor about the above.

Hope this was useful.
Regards.

Thanks a lot doctor! So if it's herpes the red spots should turn to blisters and break open right ? It's been more than 10 days with same condition but the red spots go in one end of the penis head and new one comes in another side of the head or at the back of penis head. I'm sorry for again bringing up the herpes part even after you telling it's not, I'm little concerned and praying it should not be herpes since I'm getting married in 6 months. Thanks a lot again doctor .

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Yes i quite understand why you are so much worried.
Your concern is quite natural.
The symptoms are though not properly suggestive of herpes, still i would suggest a culture to be done to rule it out.
Dont worry.

Wish you good health.

Brief Answer:
yes they are for confirmation

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Yes they confirm presence or absence of the diseases.
The symptoms do not ideally suggest herpes. But we always clinically examine the patient before coming to a diagnosis. But as you can see clinical examination is not possible. Still symptoms are not ideally of herpes.
And dont worry. Hopefully your visit to the doctor will relieve you of all stress.

Good luck.

Brief Answer:
burning sensation can occur in many type of genital infections

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Burning sensation is seen in herpes infection. But it is commonly seen in most genital infections- bacterial viral or fungal. So it is not diagnostic.
Get a culture done as advised.

Hello doctor I went to clinic and doctor mentioned it doesn't look like genitial herpes, she suspects balanitis or fungal infection. She has given fungal cream asked to use for a week.
