Question : I have felt extremely tired for the past 3 days and am increasingly unable to do my daily tasks. I am sleeping more than 8 hours a night, not drinking or taking any kinds of drugs, and eating well. Today my hands have been feeling hot. I don't have insurance, so I need to make sure I go to the doctor only if absolutely necessary.

Last week I went on vacation and stayed with a friend, who later told me he had been getting over strep throat and perhaps had mono. I am wondering if my symptoms are related.

Brief Answer:
viral fever

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXX,

Thank you for your answers to my questions.

I feel you have a viral fever causing the sore throat and soreness in the joints. I feel there is no urgency to see a doctor given that you don't have an insurance. I would advice you to take paracetamol, vitamin c and salt water gargles thrice a day along with plenty of rest, sleep and fluids.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
