What Causes Traces Of Sugar In Urine Test?
Question: I am 22 weeks 5 days pregnant. I got my Blood test and Urine Tests done based on consultation by Local Doctor. Now, My Blood Sugar Level is normal, but my Urine test has TRACES of Sugar. Is this a reason for any concern? Will it affect the baby, now or after birth, in any way?

This is just an incidental finding and as the blood sugar levels are normal, I won't give much weightage to the urine report.
But still get fasting blood sugar and a postprandial (2hours after meals) blood sugar levels along with urine sugar levels at the same time.
Also get blood urea and serum creatinine levels along with above reports.
Get its report and then we will discuss further management.
Most probably all above tests will be normal and if that is the case there is nothing to worry.
High sugar only in urine and not in blood is present in some pregnant patients without any implications but it can also be seen in kidney diseases so better to evaluate the same.
