What Causes Trouble Breathing While Eating?

Question: when i eat i have trouble breathing, as in i have to take a very deep breath to feel like if im getting enough air. but after a while (maybe an hour or so) my breathing gets better. my glucose levels have been checked and the doctor said it was okay. any idea of what it could be.?? i also get a very very runny nose and sneeze alot about every two weeks and it lasts only one day. i believe it is related because the labored breathing and the runny nose started at the same time about a year ago. also i was very heavy about two years ago and lost 100 pounds with exercise and diet change. thanks in advance for your response

As per your clinical history it appears that you most likely having allergic rhinitis with breathing difficulty .

If I were your treating doctor, I would advice you

Saline nasal spray & Steam Inhalation twice daily &
Antihistaminic levocetirizine + Montelukast combination for allergy .

I would also like to do investigation like Video laryngoscopy to rule out any laryngeal cause for breathing difficulty while eating .

Here my suggestion is that you should consult your ENT doctor for thorough examination, necessary investigations and treatment.
