Question: Is it a sing of dementia for someone who goes the wrong way two days in a row? Twice I ended up and couldn't figure out how I got there but could still find my way back to where I was suppose to go.

Brief Answer:
It can happen, but isolated doesn't mean much.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

In dementia there is involvement of more than one cognitive function, usually apart from speech functions such as language, judgment, inability to function and keep track on bills etc.

So one can't make premature conclusions if other functions are not impaired. Losing your way can be a manifestation of memory impairment, but in isolation doesn't mean much, might be due to lack of concentration, if you are able to function and perform complex everyday activities you should be alright.

If on the other hand you've noticed other changes you should contact your doctor to be screened for dementia through special questionnaries like the XXXXXXX Mental State Exam, which asseses several higher functions quantifying impairment if present.

I remain at your disposal for further questions.
