Brief Answer:
Chicken pox is a viral contagious self limiting disease

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

It is difficult to comment without clinically examining the children. But there are certain things that you need to know. Chicken pox is a disease caused by a virus. It is characterized by fluid filled blisters (vesicles) which eventually rupture and crust. The fluid contains virus and the infection is contagious and anybody coming in contact with it or with the items used by the person could get the infection. Probably this is how all of the children have got infected one after the other. Hence isolation is advocated. Once the disease process sets in, antivirals are ineffective unless given at a very early stage. Otherwise antivirals may reduce the intensity of infection. Immunization after the infection is of no help. The disease is usually self limiting and recovery occurs after a certain period of time.

I do not think that you need to take them to hospital because they are perhaps in a healing stage but once again it is hard to make such a comment. From my side I really do not know whether it is chicken pox or something else. So I leave it on your judgement.

Hope that helps.
