Question : Hi Doctor,
My mother has taken overdose of sugar medicine. Her age is around 67 We have taken her to immediate hospital. She is in icu. Her codition is not good. We noticed Yesterdy she has sodium level 120 inspite of giving so much sodium it was not increasing, Dr saying pootasium was ok,but she was concious and had all memory. Today her sodium is 129 but Dr saying pottasium low and she is not concious. Please help what is going on.

Thanks for posting your query.

Well her sodium level of 129 should not lead to unconsciousness neither shall low potassium.

So there must be something else like Infection or stroke or kidney problem that is causing her unconsciousness.

Kindly upload all the test reports done in ICU so that I can tell you what is happening.
