Please give details and post actual photographs if possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.

To recapitulate: Male/54 - difficult to chew - swelling on the side of the face near the ear - swollen eyes in the morning for 2 weeks - tried Benadryl.

Please give some additional information:

- Which side is affected?
- Since when is the swelling near the ear present?
- Since when is the chewing difficult?
- Any associated medical problems like diabetes, fever, chills, body ache and so on?

As per the short history you have provided, the commonest causes of such a problem are:

TM (temporo-mandibular) joint arthralgia.
Infection of the parotid gland
Infection of the underlying muscles or so.

Please answer the queries asked and post actual and clear photographs as they can help for on-the-spot diagnosis.
